new year

I feel very behind in my blogging. The internet broke down for a week, and anyway the boy has been out of school and that gives me no time to blog alone. Blogging cannot be done with an impatient boy trying to talk to you the whole time. Or asking you if you are done yet.
Too much time has lapsed to comment on every post I have missed so I'm not even going to try. I've read them and I've missed you. Hopefully you missed me too, just a little. I will try to be a better blogger in the future. Just cross you fingers that my computer, internet, and camera keep working and I should be here.

In retrospect:
Oh what a year this has been, eh? It started in Chicago, wallowing in loneliness, wishing I had friends.
Followed shortly by my first blizzard, in which I experienced the phenomena called Thunder Snow.
We had many friends visit us in our cozy little apartment, we went to museums and the ballet, and we ate yummy food.
The boy's band played some really great shows and I joined a group to put on once monthly salons where we sang songs and watched skits and puppet shows.
I started to make friends.
I worked at Myopic Books, the best job I have ever had.
The boy graduated from college (again) and Patti Smith spoke and performed at the ceremony.
I had almost of full year of free haircuts from various friends and beauty students.
The boy was accepted to graduate school.
We lived through hail the size of ping pong balls, torrential downpours, crazy winds, and the final installment of the Harry Potter movies.
We moved to Indianapolis.
I became vegan.
The boy started school and I started work and we started making new friends. Life consists of nothing but making and leaving friends.
I went pumpkin patching, thrifting, and bike riding.
We hosted a successful Thanksgiving, but spent Christmas without family or friends.
I fell asleep at 11 PM on New Years Eve.

On to the new year! My resolutions this year are as follows:
  • Finally learn to play the ukulele.
  • Write daily.
  • Finish projects (like New Years cards)
  • Save money
  • Floss
What are your resolutions this year?

Happy New Year! Your internet down again, booo. Flossing is a good one, I do that everyday without fail. I hate flossing lol.

You were missed :) Although I admit I've been a horrendous blogger meself over this most recent break. I love your list of resolutions (I'm not brave enough to post any myself, so I'm avoiding a New Year's post for now), and I agree that flossing is very very important. Happy New Year friend!

Happy New Year, Chelsea! I haven't given much thought to any resolutions this year (at least not yet), but I'm always telling myself to read and floss more.

I've fallen behind in my blogging, too. It's been a strange combination of both intentional and unintentional. I do find myself missing regular interaction with my favorite bloggers, though (and you are among them, of course!).

You have had quite a year! It's been fun tagging along on your journey :) It's a hectic journey, but quite a well dressed one. I'm glad you're gonna be around more.

A friend of mine takes ukulele lessons. And so does her daughter. True story. My husband bought some in Mexico, brought them back, gave one to his best friend, and they learned some songs and played them in our back yard for a whole summer. It was great.
